About Dale Curtis Carroll
Dale Curtis Carroll, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa, Arizona, on April 21, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born June 30, 1940, in Crescent, Utah, and raised on a farm in Highland, Utah.
Dale graduated from American Fork High School, "Go Cavemen", where he met his sweetheart, Bonnie Jean Boren. While at AF High, he was the starting Quarterback and Student Body President. He went on to attend the University of Utah and was a lifelong Utes Football & Basketball fan.
Dale and Bonnie were married on June 3, 1960 in American Fork, Utah and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 16, 1962. They were happily married for 65 years.
Dale worked for multiple companies in the Semiconductor "Quality Control" industry for over 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Scott (Karen) Carroll, Todd (Liz) Carroll, Mark Carroll, Dustin (Bridget) Carroll; 13 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren (with 3 more on the way); 2 brothers Kent and Lamar and his sister Karen. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lori, brothers Kay & Ron and his parents DeMar and Marjorie.
Dale loved playing the trumpet and listening to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass as well as The Eagles. He also loved watching sports, especially college football, basketball and golf. He enjoyed traveling with his family and some of his favorite trips were to Yellowstone, Alaska, Paris, the Panama Canal, and boys trips to Las Vegas. He loved playing Poker, Bingo and Rummikub with his family, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and firearms.
His lifelong service at church included being in the Stake Presidency and the Bishopric of the YSA ward at ASU. He served as an Institute Service Missionary with his wife Bonnie for 10 years. Dale was an avid Scouter and Young Men’s leader for many years and each of his four boys achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was especially talented at serving with the youth and young adults.
He was known for his zest for life and cheerful personality, and people were drawn to be around him. Most of all, he was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who found his greatest joy in being with them and seeing them grow up.
The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate his life. They would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, family members, and church members who offered kind words, prayers, and support. They also extend their thanks to Hospice of the Valley, who helped care for Dale with great compassion during the final weeks of his life.
