When planning for a burial in Mesa, AZ, it can be a stressful and important part of moving on. At Bunker Family Funerals & Cremation, we help you along the way to choose the right kind of burial you would like to honor your loved one. We have burial options that include viewings, services, or a combination. Learn more about each one below.
A visitation, often called a viewing, is an opportunity to interact with friends and family usually with the casket and deceased loved one present. This can be done at one of our beautiful facilities, or at another location of your choice. Though a number of people choose to have this open to the public, you are certainly permitted to invite only close friends and family. Visitation is usually held the night prior and/or just prior to the funeral service.
A Funeral Service is the opportunity for family and friends to get together in a more formal setting and celebrate the life of the lost loved one through written speeches, songs, and shared memories. With that said, we encourage families to commemorate their loved one’s life in the way they see most appropriate, as formal or casual as that may be. A funeral usually takes place in one of our funeral chapels, or an offsite church building. The word funeral implies that the body is present.
A graveside service is a service held at the location of the decedent’s final place of disposition. This can be done in addition to the two services listed above, or as the only formal service. We provide premium audio equipment for the graveside, to assure that even the largest of groups gathered at a graveside will clearly hear everything said at the service.
Ask your funeral director about other service options that are available to you. These may include funeral escorts, a balloon release, dove release, limousine rentals, bagpipe players, and more.
We understand that this can be a hard and trying time for you and your family. That is why we are here to help you. If someone has passed and you want to choose a burial option, contact us today. If you have any questions about pre-planning a burial, see here.
