Timothy J Jackson Jr (Timmy), 44, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022 with family by his side.  He was born to the late Timothy J Jackson Sr and Mary Kaye Thompson on October 9, 1977 in Mesa, Arizona.  Tim was known for his compassion, willingness to serve others, his genuine kindness, his love of Christ, and his ability to make anyone laugh.

Tim worked as a registered nurse for 12 years and helped change the lives of many patients as well as his co-workers.  He had an ability with patients to calm their troubles and truly comfort them in their time of need.  He loved to educate those around him because he always wanted to see others succeed.  He was frequently recognized within the profession for his excellence in leadership and his compassion.

Tim married Amber Neel and it was obvious that they were soulmates.  After three short years of marriage Tim was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a form of brain tumor.  He was extremely honored to participate in a clinical trial with the Ivy Brain Tumor Center with the hope to advance research for those with glioblastoma.  With the knowledge that the clinical trial may not help him, Tim was happy to be able to participate and provide data for Dr. Sanai to find a cure in the future. It was always in Tim’s character to put others first, and this was evident even during the last and most difficult months of his life. It was Tim’s full belief that he lived as long as he did because of Dr. Sanai.

Tim is survived by his wife Amber, stepsons Jude and Maxwell, daughter Charlotte, son Timothy J Jackson III (Timmy), mother Kaye Jackson, siblings Tara Worthington (Ben), Greg Jackson, Kelli Jackson.

Tim was the light in this world that everyone needed.  Just knowing Tim made you a better person.

The funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, June 10, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints building, 2334 E Pueblo Ave Mesa, AZ 85204. A public viewing will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 North Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ 85201.

It has been a rough journey for all of us to see Tim and his beautiful family endure his illness. The love that Amber and Tim shared is a palpable reminder of just how short our journey through this life is and to gracefully be the best servant to others, sharing empathy and profound compassion to everyone. Tim brightened this world like no other and is an example to emulate. My deepest, sincere, heartfelt condolences to all that are saddened by his passing. Heaven is celebrating their new Angel. Much love, prayers and hugs to adorable Amber and beautiful 👪 family.

What words describe a light that was Timmy, who shined for everyone caught in the shadows? How does one describe the infectious smile shared by Timmy? Who better to be called to transfer to Heaven at such a rewarding time on earth, than Timmy? When will the tears stop knowing his light, his smile, and the sweet, wonderful, Christ-like Timmy is no longer at arms reach?

To coin a phrase from a song most fitting in describing the loss of our cousin Timmy; There’s a hole in the world tonight.

Amber, without you and your four precious children, Timmy would never had known such joy and pure heaven on earth. Timmy was made for fatherhood! You, Amber, were made for Timmy! We love you!

Kaye, if we could heal your mama heart, certainly we’d try. Thank you for sharing such a fabulous son with all of us who knew and loved him in Arizona.

Aunt Peggy, no arms like yours are long enough to reach around your sister, Amber, four little children and around all of Timmy’s cousins. Thank heaven for your loving hugs that have and will embrace many in the wake of Timmy’s loss. I love you!

    See ya later, Timmy.

  • Amber,

We have never met. I follow you on Instagram and i have been so touched by your and Tim’s story. As a person with a brain tumor, i know how valuable it is to have a spouse that carries you through the worst of cancer treatment. Making appointments, stepping in when things get too tough, and all the tiny things that you never shared or were noticed by the rest of the world. I promise you, Tim noticed. He appreciated you and you could see the love he had for you in every picture you shared. You were and are an excellent partner for him. I hope you find peace.

  • Nick and Cara Huish

Tim was such a great man. I remember seeing him in church with those 2 boys, and how my heart was touched. He was such a great dad to those 2 boys and the patience snd love for Jude. Amber snd him were so happy to have found each other. My heart was so happy for her. Tim was a great man and truly will be missed by all who knew him. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Jackson family. I know he will be there angel from now on and stay very close to Amber and those children. God bless your family.

  • Stephanie Bessey

    Amber,
I was privileged to have your son Maxwell in my class this year. He would often tell me stories and kept me informed of things that were happening at home. He always came in with such a positive attitude. That I know he got from you. One particular day, you came to have lunch with him. You came in so excited to see him and make his day special. Later that day I saw your Instagram stories about a doctors appointment you had with Tim just before lunch with Max. That is when I knew what a strong mama you are and what an amazing impact you and Tim had on your children. While at lunch, you would have never know the hard morning you had just had. I never got to meet Tim, but through your stories and Max’s in class, I felt like I did. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending all my love and prayers your way ❤️.
    Love,
    Stephanie Bessey

I have never met Amber or Tim, but I felt connected to them through social media. Their optimism, hope, and humor are inspirational. My husband has a slightly lower grade tumor (cancer) than Tim’s, and we are blessed that he has done very well since his diagnosis five years ago. Still, we hope and pray for a cure and an end to this horrible disease. Much love and blessings to you all. I know you seek comfort knowing Tim is truly in a better place and free from pain.

My dad lost his life six years ago. He was in the ICU for 10 days. Tim was there with us in our time of grief. He was the head nurse over the ICU floor. He made arrangements for our family to meet together in a conference room with my dad’s medical team where we made the decision to take my dad off life support. My dad passed quickly. Tim had lunch brought to that same conference room after my dad died making sure we were taken care of as a family. Our family will always be grateful to Tim for the kindness and compassion shown. I am so grateful for the kindness he showed my mother during those 10 days. I later learned that Tim married another nurse. We were so excited that he found love and went on to have two children adding to his step children one of which is extra special with an extra chromosome. My heart breaks that Tim no long here, but am sure he’ll be actively involved in the lives of his wife and children when they need him. He’s not gone, he’s closer than we know. How grateful we are to know that his Spirit lives on. Thank you Tim for being there for us in our time of need. May your family feel you close. Peace and love to Amber and the children.

  • Stephanie Issar

I only knew Tim for a brief period of time, but I know I will remember his spirit and compassion for a lifetime. The only way to describe Tim was that he was one of the nicest humans I have ever met. He always had a kind word or joke to offer, and truly genuinely wanted to help those around him. Rest In Peace Tim and my condolences to his family during this incredibly difficult time.

  • Melvina Hudson

  • Brittaney Pegues

My heart hurts for all and I’m deeply saddened to hear of this loss. I’ve been quietly following his journey since I knew Timmy only through his brother. Though it has been some time since I’ve seen him, he is the type of soul that leaves a lasting impression on you. He was absolutely one of a kind and I’m blessed to have crossed his path. What an intelligent, charismatic and inspiring man he was. Between his jokes and pranks, he could put a smile on anyone’s face. Although I didn’t know his wife, I do know that he had very high standards for the mate he chose in this life and without a doubt know that she is equally as strong, intelligent and caring. I’m so glad he found his perfect person and the family that they’ve created is such a blessing. The Jackson family still holds a huge place in my heart, whether they know it or not, and they are some of literally the most genuine people I know. May you all find peace in the legacy he’s left this mortal world.

    Family is forever.

    With love,
    Brittaney
