A Life Remembered

Obituary

Theresa M. Fisel March 4, 1957 – June 23, 2026

Theresa "Terri" Fisel passed into eternal glory at home, surrounded by her loved ones, on June 23, 2026, at 11:38 a.m. Terri was born on March 4, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to Sam Marsala and Eleanor C. Marsala (née Mistretta). Terri was known for her infectious laughter, her sky-blue eyes, and her unwavering love of the Lord. She was a faithful wife, steadfast mother, devoted grandmother, proud dog mom, and a loving aunt, sister, and friend.

Her passions throughout life included music, acrylic painting, and cooking, especially feeding the people she loved. Anyone who entered her home was often greeted by a familiar tune playing in the background, a newly completed painting displayed with pride, and the garlic rich aroma of something delicious simmering on the stove.

Terri had a remarkable gift for connecting with people. Whether through a compliment, a simple question, or one of her many unique observations, she could strike up a conversation with anyone and often walk away having made a new friend. Her love for others shone through in every moment of her life. After battling COPD for many years, Terri courageously shared her story with honesty, grace, and wisdom, hoping her experiences would encourage and help others facing similar challenges.

On September 16, 1989, Terri married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Fisel. For nearly 37 years, Chuck and Terri shared a life filled with love, laughter, devotion, and unwavering partnership.

Terri is survived by her beloved husband, Chuck; her daughters, Nicki DellaPosta (Jeff Smaluk), Salina Harrington (John Gabe), and Elizabeth Harned (Ty); her cherished grandchildren, Declan, Samuel, Evelyn, William, Josephine, and Grace; her beloved fur babies, Bear and Wyatt; and her brothers, Michael (Cheryl) Marsala and Joseph (Chrissy) Marsala.

Terri's legacy of faith, kindness, creativity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
