Stephen Cowgur, 73 passed away on November 22, 2022 in Mesa Arizona. Steve grew up on a dairy farm in Mesa, and spent his career as the owner of a successful Dairy Queen organization. He loved to travel and spoke excellent Swedish. Steve spent most of his leisure time riding his bike, playing tennis, and driving his sports cars. He served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in many capacities, including Bishop and two missions to Sweden. He had an incredible spirit of generosity, and was free with his time, knowledge, and resources.

He and Margaret just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his children Marie, Carl, Greg, Sharon, Ellen, Wayne, and 17 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00 am at the LDS church on 1483 N Driftwood Dr, Gilbert, AZ 85234. There will also be a live link: https://youtu.be/pHLslndyrnI

    I remember Steve as a young girl in the Alma 2nd ward. He was one of my dad’s scouts. Laurel Leavitt will be having a joyous reunion with him in the spirit world. He made many important contributions to DQ thru the years, and his opinion was frequently sought out. Steve was a hard working, trustworthy, intelligent man and I am proud to say he was my friend.
