Shirley Ann Pico Mother and Grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024 in Mesa Arizona.

Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers Dee, Donald, and Dale and her Husband of 63 years, Joe. She is survived by her sister LaReece and her sister-in-law Delores Ramos. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children Les (Rita), Jeff (Darlene), Brad (Christy), Julie (Joe), Robbie (Farrine), and Lisa. Shirley had 24 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Shirley was born on January 20 1935 in Rigby Idaho to Leslie and Ora Bybee. Her father was transferred to Williams Air Force Base, Mesa, AZ in 1948.

Shirley attended BYU through her sophomore year and loved her experience there. She worked many years as an administrative assistant at ASU, then at Patterson, and Burke Elementary schools in Gilbert, Arizona.

She raised 6 children, 4 boys and two girls. She supported all 4 boys and one of her daughters on LDS missions. Shirley served faithfully in many areas of responsibility in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, but her most cherished was serving in the Temple for 13 years.

All are welcome to attend her viewing on February 13th 2024 at 9am to 10 am and her services beginning at 10 am at the LDS chapel at 2152 E. Adobe Street Mesa, AZ 85213.

  • I’m sorry to read about the loss of your mom. Your Dad was my high school teacher in Prescott back in the 60s. Years later your Mom was the school secretary at Patterson when I taught there. I enjoyed both of them in the Gilbert district then. Condolences to your families.

  • I just read about Shirley Pico Death and I miss hearing about it. I am so sorry. I worked with Shirley in the Mesa Temple for several years, we had our lockers next to each other and became great friends. I am so sorry because I loved her and enjoyed her friendship so much. If her son Brad or daughter Lisa could call me #408- 980- 5240, I would appreciate it so much, I live in Mesa close by. My sympathy to the family, she was a lovely person and a wonderful friend.
