Scott Capper Tibbetts October 4, 1989 --- April 27 2026
Scott Capper Tibbetts, age 36, passed away at home in Mesa, Arizona, on April 27, 2026 with family by his side. Scott was born at Mesa General Hospital in Mesa, Arizona, USA, on October 4, 1989, to Brent Capper Tibbetts and Rebecca Charlotte Lambson (Tibbetts). Scott is the third of four children born to Brent and Rebecca.
Beginning at age eight Scott participated in the Boy Scouts of America program and earned the programs highest award of Eagle Scout in November of 2007. Scott attended Heritage Academy Mesa (7th – 12th grade) in downtown Mesa, Arizona and graduated from Heritage Academy in May of 2008 with honors and distinctions.
Scott was called to serve as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 2010 to 2012. He served in the Bangkok, Thailand mission speaking the Thai language. After serving an honorable mission Scott attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he earned a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. He graduated from BYU in Spring of 2020 just as Covid – 19 was declared a global pandemic.
In June of 2023 Scott was diagnosed with AML leukemia (flt3-ITD) and thus began a journey of mental, emotional, and spiritual healing that would last for almost 3 years. On April 27th, 2026, God released Scott from his broken physical body as well by calling him home.
Scott has always had a bright, inquisitive mind. A few of his hobbies included, but were not limited to: electricity, computer electronics, creating circuit boards, creating fireworks, creating beautiful colored lasers, camping, hiking, mountain biking, food preservation, cooking Thai food, making hot sauces, making mechanical parts with a metal lathe, woodworking, bookbinding, fixing things for others (especially electrical things), and so much more.
Above all Scott was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ. He found his greatest joy in serving and helping others and often this was without their prior knowledge. He quietly “went about doing good”.
Scott Capper Tibbett’s mortal remains have been laid to rest at San Tan Memorial Garden’s in Queen Creek, Arizona. He was survived by his parents, Brent and Rebecca Tibbetts, and siblings: Jason Tibbetts (wife Marin Goldthwaite), Christina Hoose (husband Jonathan Van Hoose), and Nathan Tibbetts (wife Lily Hawkins); Nieces and Nephews: Ethan, Lilah, Ashton, Adalyn, Rosson, and Sylvia Tibbetts, and Eden, Ander, Winter, August, Asa and Soleil Hoose.
We love you, Scott. May you rest in joy and peace! Until we meet again.
