Sally Sessions, 81, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by family on June 13, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19. Although she will be missed, we know she is enjoying a heavenly reunion with her husband, sisters, parents, and beloved friends.

Sally was born on October 14, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ralph Huber and Mary Elizabeth Beesley Huber. She graduated from High Point HS in Beltsville, Maryland and attended Utah State University where she earned a BS in Physical Education.

While attending college in Logan, Utah she met Vernal C. Sessions on a blind date. On December 22, 1960, the couple married in the SLC Temple. After graduation, they moved to Arizona where they lived for the next 54 years. In Fort Huachuca she worked as a P.E. teacher at Buena HS. They raised their family in Phoenix and Mesa.

Sally was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various church callings throughout her life. She was a skilled homemaker and an exceptional cook. She enjoyed tending to her beautiful flower gardens and adored her many pets. Most importantly, she was a selfless example to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved spoiling each of them. She spent her life continuously serving others and was a perfect example of Christlike love.

Sally is survived by her 4 siblings: Becky, Trisha, Lowell, and Lisa. She is also survived by her four children: Dean (Danette) Sessions, Mark (Janet) Sessions, Jill (Richard) Woolf, and Lee Sessions. Her 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren will always have fond memories of their Grandma. She is preceded in death by her husband Vernal Sessions, parents Ralph and Mary Elizabeth Huber, and her two sisters— Sharon Carter and Mary Loosle.

Services will be held in Sally’s honor on June 29, 2021 at 11am, preceded by a visitation at 10am at the LDS Stake Center, 1550 N Val Vista Dr 85213. Interment at the City of Mesa Cemetery.

Condolences

  • How could you not love Sally? What an amazing wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother and most of our friend. Sally never met a person that didn’t instantly become her friend. I loved walking with her every morning and gleaning from her wisdom. She will be missed by all who loved her!
