It was a sad day for the family of Rosemary Stillion, who passed away on Friday, Dec 28, 2018. Mom lived a long wonderful life of 89 years. She is survived by her husband, Robert, who shared 71 wonderful years with her. They built a life they cherished.

Together they had three sons, David, Daniel, and Douglas; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Belinda, Alyson, Jeffrey, Whitney, Amber, Lucus, Aaron, Paul, Jayme, Christy, Keeley, and Elise; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Rosemary was born in Arkansas and came to Arizona with her Mom and Dad and six siblings in 1934 and settled in the Phoenix area. She met Robert at the age of 18 when he got out of the Navy, and they were married in 1947. She and Robert settled on the west side of Phoenix and made this their home for the next 67 years. To the very end, they held hands, smooched, and had to be in bed every night together up until their last night together on Christmas Eve. They had an amazing love story.

Rosemary is the last of her six siblings to pass. She has missed them dearly over the last 15 years and finally she is home with them and her parents, Claude and Virgie. She was gracious, loving, and caring with her family, even when her time was close.

Rose loved being a homemaker, wife, and mother. She loved being active in her kids’ activities like cub scouts, sports, and hosting her son’s many friends that came in and out of the house over the years. She loved taking trips with her young family. Her favorite trips were to San Diego, the White Mountains, and Yellowstone. Later in life, she cherished her trip with just her and Robert to Hawaii and loved her trips to Las Vegas with Robert to mingle with her huge family. Rose and Robert’s 70th Anniversary was so special last year as they celebrated their long love affair with the entire family.

Rose was known for her sweet nature but could also be very outspoken and funny. She loved to laugh. Once, on a trip to Vegas with her son David and daughter-in-law Debbie, doing a fun little question and answer game, Rose and Robert were asked, “If you could spend one night with someone and not feel any guilty feelings later, who would that be?” Robert quickly answered, “Why it would be with the lovely lady of course,” referring to Rose. Then when asked the same question, Rose immediately answered “Bill Clinton.” Of course, realizing what she had just said, she quickly said, “I would just want to talk – that’s all! But he is HOT!!” That brought on lots of laughter, as it often did when she laughed at herself.

Rosemary Stillion was a grand lady….who adored and was adored. We shall miss her all our days….
