Rosa Granillo Gonzales passed away peacefully among family on December 13, 2018 at Mesa Christian Health and Rehab. We would like to thank the staff for their support.
Rosa is survived by her children, Yvonne, Frank, Sonia, Catalina, Yolanda, Sandy, and Raymond; along with 48 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Rosa was born to Ambrose and Martha Granillo on August 19, 1932 in Holtville, California. She was the oldest of ten children; her siblings are: Herman, Sedro, Patty, Gloria, Ambrose Jr., Margaret, Della, Raymond, and Dora.
Our mother was known for her friendly way with conversation even with total strangers. Some may be surprised to learn of her shyness, but yet she possessed a contagious smile and a good sense of humor. Throughout her life she has shared what could be offered whether it was a meal, opening her home for those in need, or gifting others with financial support. Mom has touched many hearts and lives; she will always be remembered for her generous and loving ways.
During her long work history, Rosa earned a GED certificate and attended Collins College in Tempe, Arizona, determined to provide a better life for her family. Mom worked as a waitress, cooler pad assembler, plastic machine operator, and worked 16 years as a CNA at several local nursing homes, which she found very rewarding.
Her faith in God and will to live carried her through the final days of her life, with family and friends who gave their prayers and love.
A visitation and memorial service will be held at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 North Centennial Way, Mesa, Arizona 85202, on Friday, December 21, 2018. The visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00pm, with the service following at 3:00pm. Family and friends are also invited to attend a Celebration of Life service after the memorial service, to share stories of our mother, at the home of Frank and Mary Frances, 2504 East Don Carlos Avenue, Tempe, AZ 85281. For more information please call Frank at (480) 270-2967.
God bless my Tia and her family. May she rest in heaven in peace with the lords Angels.
