Roman (what most people called him) was born to Arthur Bell Duffy and Viola Juanita Beville on July 1st, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. Roman was a great husband, father and grandfather who loved to be with his family and enjoy time with each of them. Roman had a passion for music and wrote many songs over his lifetime. He played in a lot of bands and brought the joy of music to serval people over the years.

Roman was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in various callings over the years. Roman loved to share his love for the church when had the chance and loved learning about it through study and prayer.

Our time with him will be greatly missed and we will cherish the many years we had with him, his music, and his passion for his family and religion.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, children Jonathan (Kara) and Nathaniel (Amy), and his grandchildren Alex, Camy, Ridge, Carly, Kanon, and Brynn. He had a great love for each one of us and took time when he could to make each grandchild feel special.

Condolences

  • I’d like to extend my deepest sympathies to Nancy and the rest of Roman’s family for their loss. Roman was always so kind and supported as we worked together at Broadway palm dinner theater. We had a lot of fun working together. I enjoyed listening to all his stories.

  • Roman was was a person I would refer to as “one of a kind”. He always made me feel like I was his special friend, especially as I served as his Bishop. I soon learned, however, that he treated everyone that same way. The Heiner’s will miss him along with many others who also knew him as their special friend.

    Bob,
As we all called him, was the corner stone of our band The “The Twirls”. He was very instrumental in helping us to be the first band to sign with Ardent Records. I know he is now reunited with our Lord and members of our band. I so hope they will save me a spot when when my time comes.
Bob was such a wonderful person, and I will miss him. I know if we listen closely to the Heavens, we will hear his music.
    IN BLOSSOM TODAY AND THEN
SCATTERED,LIFE IS SO LIKE A DELICATE FLOWER,
HOW CAN ONE EXPECT THE FRAGRANCE TO LAST FOREVER

  • Nancy & Family,
Just want to express my love and sympathy to you at this time. I know how hard Roman’s passing must be for all of you. He was a great man. I know how much my mom and dad loved him and loved you. Roman, like you, was very kind and caring towards our family. I know he will be missed by many. Sure love you and pray for peace and comfort in your behalf.

  • Roman to me was my big brother and a wonderful friend. The world is a lesser place with his passing. Nancy and family, my heart goes out to you. His passing hurts but he is not in pain now and he is working for the Lord full time now.
    You are in my prayers.
