Robert Ivan Foster our devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away June 13th, 2019 following a 8 year battle with cancer.
Robert was born December 30, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the second child of Ivan and Hildred Foster.
He married his eternal sweetheart, LuRae Peirce on December 17, 1956, where they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They enjoyed a wonderful 62 years together and were blessed with 4 handsome sons and 1 beautiful daughter.
Robert received a scholarship in the Navel reserve and graduated from the University of Utah. He worked as an electrical engineer and eventually was a Vice President of Motorola. After retirement he entered into the custom home business, building homes with his youngest son Russell for 22 years.
Robert was always health conscious and he enjoyed weight lifting and nutrition. He had a love for music, sang in many choirs and especially enjoyed singing with his lovely wife.
He had a quick wit that brought those who know him a lot of laughter. He served in many LDS Wards and Stake callings including 2 bishoprics and Stake High Counselor.
After a courageous 8 year battle with cancer, with hardly a complaint; Robert passed to the other side. Anyone who knew or worked with Bob knows of his honesty, integrity, and great generosity. He will be greatly missed by all.

Dearest Aunt LuRae and Foster family
Although distance and life has limited our times together, our memories of those times are poignant. We have a special place in our hearts for each of you. Mother (Marillyn) has kept us aware of many of your activities and life events. It was really nice to visit with you Aunt LuRae and Larry when we were there in May. I wish now, that we had gone to see Bob; he will be missed. He was always so good to us and is one of the noble and great son’s of God. He accomplished much in his life, especially rearing such an outstanding family and setting a great example for all of us. What a blessing it is to know of God’s plan. It brings great peace when loved ones pass away. I’m sure he has gone to prepare a place for you. Please accept our sincere condolences. We love and miss you all.
