Robert George Keck Jr.

12/01/1947 - 05/19/2022

Robert (Rob/Bob) G. Keck, Jr. passed  away suddenly on May 19, 2022 in Mesa. AZ at the age of 74. Rob was a lifelong lover of music and followed in the footsteps of his  drummer father when he went on to become a great drummer himself. His  kindness, generosity and humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Ginnie Keck. He is survived by his sisters Karen Meek (Denny), Kristie Smith (Bob), Kathy Butcher Koningsor (Don) and 7 nephews and nieces and 6 grand nephews and nieces.

A special thank you to Jim  and Patti Jones (and  Frankie and David and all the caregivers) at Angel Home Health Care Assisted Living who cared for Rob so lovingly this past year and a half.

Condolences

  • Even though we did not know Uncle Rock until the last few years, we cherished the times that we did have with him. He was kind, generous, and treated us like family the moment we met him. We love him and will miss being able to visit with him now, but know that we’ll be able to see him again some day. Rock on in Heaven, Uncle Rock!

  • The Peczkowski Family (Tiff, Todd, Cam, Alex and Ava)

Sending our love to you, Uncle Rock! You were such a kind and gentle soul with so much love and laughter to share with everyone around you. You will be missed but we will take comfort in knowing you are at peace and enjoying yourself fully in heaven!

    Dear Karen, Kristie, and Kathy,

As the Director of Alumni Relations Emeritus, I offer you the sympathy and prayers of the Saint Viator/Sacred Heart of Mary community, as well as my own. Our hearts go out to you as you move through your journey of grief. We pray for you as you share the stories, laugh and cry, and find ways to celebrate Rob and the love you shared.

As I read the obituary for this “great drummer” whose “kindness, generosity and humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him,” I was reminded of an adaptation of a reading from the Book of Sirach.

“Let us praise an illustrious man,
faithful to his family and friends, strong in his love.
At peace in his heart and his world,
he has left us his good name, and we recount his life of praiseworthy deeds.
A generous man his good works will never be forgotten.
Among his family and friends remains a rich inheritance born of him….
His name lives on from generation to generation.
We gather to sing his praises.
We proclaim his wisdom and love of life all our days.”

May you be comforted by the fact that death cannot take away the love, the memories, the faith!
May the knowledge Rob lives on in your goodness give you peace and hope!

Take care and God bless you with the gifts you most need!
    Judith
