I have treasured memories of Ren as a youth and young man. The Waters family lived only 3 homes away on Meadow Drive in Helena. I was Ren’s bishop from 1973 to 1977. Parley and Donna were leaders in the Helena 2nd Ward; in fact Donna was one of the first persons in the Church that I met when I moved to Helena in 1965. I remember when Parley died, Ren was serving his mission. He called me wondering if he should come home for the funeral. I told him that his mother, sister and brother would be greatly comforted if he did, but left him to counsel with his mission president. My life was enriched by knowing him.
