Patrice (Patty) Daniels – 68, peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on August 4, 2019, with her family by her side. Born in Safford, Arizona, to Thomas and Maudeen Bowen, Patty enjoyed a beautiful childhood, where she was loved and excelled in school.
She was Head Majorette at Safford High School and also participated in the school choir. Patty met the love of her life, Alan Daniels, while in high school, whom she later married and enjoyed 48 wonderful years together. After high school, Patty attended Eastern Arizona College, and then transferred to Arizona State University, where she finished her master’s degree in Education. Patty taught for the Gilbert Public School District as a teacher for 30 years; a job she loved until retiring in 2009.
Patty loved socializing, enjoyed going to the gym, taking excellent care of her disabled son, and loved spending time with and spoiling her grandkids. What Patty was most proud of was her family.
Survivors include Alan (husband), her sons Chad, Brad (Lisa), daughter Holly, and grandkids -Kenadee, Ashton, Chaz, and Kash, brother Thomas Bowen (Carolyn), and sister-in-law Mary Bowen. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Maudeen Bowen, and her brother Gary Bowen.
On Saturday, August 10, 2019, visitation will begin at 9 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1415 E. Southern Ave., Mesa, AZ 85204. Funeral service will follow at 10 AM. Arrangements by Bunker’s Garden Chapel.

I am so sorry to hear of Patty’s passing. I did not know she had been ill but really that doesn’t help much, does it. I always looked up to the upper classmen and enjoyed her performances at Safford High School. She was very talented. I know she took excellent care of Chad and was the perfect partner for Alan. My sincere sympathy to all the family and the special friends in Patty’s life.
Patty will always be part of who I am. I grew up watching her tend to her roses, love her children, spoil her dogs, and always have a kind word. We love Patty, and we love this family. God be with you Patty and family!

I’m so sad to hear if Patty’s passing. I so enjoyed teaching with her at Greenfield Elementary. She was a bright light who loved her family, students, and colleagues. My heart goes out to Patty’s family and friends during this very difficult time.
I am so sorry for her family. She was so full of lfe and an amazing person. Her husband Alan was in our high school class and she was a little younger. I am so glad that we know the plan of salvation and that we will see her again in a better time and place. Peace be with her family…gone too soon!
I grew up thinking how awesome it was that Patty was a mom AND a full time educator. Not very many women in our neighborhood had full time careers like Patty. She was an awesome example to us young girls growing up in the 80’s in our old neighborhood of how to balance a career and family. My prayers of comfort are with you all!!
Patty was so full of love and always had a smile on her face. She made me feel like family while I taught with her at Greenfield. I adore her family….especially her sweet grandkids.

So sorry for your loss Alan, Holly, Brad, and Chad. We will miss Patti! She was devoted to her family!!! I loved teaching with Patti at Harris Elementary ! She gave us our first dog. A Boston Terrier, Bubba! It started a whole second family! Love you Patti! I know your’re happy to be with your mom and dad!!!!
Alan, Brad, Holly and Chad, I am so sorry for your loss. Seems it was only a few months ago she sounded so positive. I enjoyed teaching with her and bonding over our love of Boston Terriers. Wishing you all peace.
