Melanie McCain, 56, passed away on July 12, 2024, in Mesa, Arizona.

Melanie was the fourth child of seven children, and first daughter born to Ray and Anneva McCain in Mesa, Arizona on January 10, 1968. Her parents were so excited to finally have a girl! Melanie grew up in Mesa and graduated from Westwood High School in 1986. Shortly after high school, Melanie served as a nanny for a family in New Jersey for a short period of time. After returning to Arizona, she completed a program to become a licensed travel agent.

Melanie worked for a variety of employers over the years but worked for nearly the last 25 years for the City of Phoenix. She started with the City Court, then later transferred to the City Clerk’s office, and for the past 15 years she worked for the city Aviation Department at Sky Harbor Airport. During this time, she worked as an Administrative Assistant and Management Assistant.

Melanie was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a deep and abiding love of her Savior Jesus Christ. She served in many callings over the years, in Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society.

Melanie, much like her mother, had a unique way of loving and serving others. She would regularly call her siblings and others to make sure everyone was doing well. Melanie had 18 nieces and nephews, and 10 grand nieces and nephews that she loved and cherished with all her heart. Melanie rarely missed and made every attempt to attend a birthday party, play, concert, game or other performance that any one of them were participating in that she could; furthermore, she always seemed to remember to send a birthday card or Christmas gift. Melanie also attended many family gatherings including birthday parties, reunions, and especially loved family game nights. She loved travelling to visit her close friends or family members across the United States.

Melanie was deeply loved by all who knew her, especially her family. Melanie was predeceased by her parents, Ray and Anneva; and is survived by her six siblings: Mark (Carla) McCain,  Queen Creek, AZ; Michael (Emily) McCain, Mt. Pleasant, UT; Martin (Ruth Ann) McCain, Spring City, UT; Mathew (Karen) McCain, Mesa, AZ; Melissa (Terry) Tippie, Twin Peaks, CA; and Morgan (Hana) McCain, Mesa, AZ.
