Mary Margaret Canady, 89, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Banner Gateway Hospital, Mesa, Arizona.

Mary was born March 26, 1932, to Earl and Nelia Taylor in West Jefferson, NC. She spent her childhood there and later moved to Burlington, NC, where she went to work for Western electric, as a circuit board fabricator, retiring after 25 years.

She was married to Lee Canady on September 2, 1950, in Burlington. They traveled a lot for their jobs and enjoyed camping and traveling with the Red Dale Camping Club.

Mary was a long-time member of Eastern Star. She loved to play cards and was always ready for ‘lunch out’ and a trip to the casino.

Mary and Lee lived in Illinois for 25 years and traveled to Mesa as ‘snowbirds’ until 2003 when they purchased a home in Citrus Gardens in Mesa.

Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers Dale, Billy and Harold and sister, Virginia Absher. She is survived by her husband and many good friends.

Services are Monday, October 25, 2021, at 11 AM at Bunker’s University Chapel, 3529 East University Drive, in Mesa. She will be laid to rest in Green Acres Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Shriner’s Hospital for children.
