Lucy Ann Green [Robinson] age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 29, 2024 at her home in Phoenix, Arizona. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Born April 19, 1939, Lucy was the second of four children of Samuel Jerald Robinson and Flossie Bluth Robinson. She grew up in central Phoenix, attended North High School where she participated in various sports, music and performance activities. Her true passion, however, was discovered in sewing and mending. She excelled in clothing construction and was the family go-to for everything involving a needle and thread. She often said that the best place to relax was at her sewing machine.
Lucy married Darwin Boyd Green in 1961 in the Mesa Temple and they had two children, Sherilyn and Robert. After living in several states, they settled in northern California, where Lucy and the children lived until 1980. She then returned to her roots in Phoenix and worked for many years in the accounting department for a real estate development company.
She was devoted to her family, caring for her son until his death from cancer in 2001. She also helped care for her elderly parents until each of them passed away.
She believed a bowl of freshly cooked beans was the best comfort food, and passed down a few of her favorite recipes that continue to delight her great-grandchildren.
She is preceeded in death by her beloved sister, Minnie Jo, older brother, Jerald Van, her parents, and her son, Robert.
She is survived by her brother Samuel J. Robinson (Susan) of Phoenix, daughter Sherilyn Lindsley (David), 4 grandchildren and spouses, 5 great-grandchildren, all in Utah, and many nieces, nephews and their families.
