About Julia Uchytil

Julia Crandell Uchytil has peacefully graduated this life and gone on to her Heavenly home after valiantly battling parkinsons for 18 years. Sunday, May17th was her graduation day, and she leaves a great legacy of love, family, faith, hard work, and integrity. Born April 19, 1932, she was the fourth of eight children born to Ruth and Glen Crandell. She is survived by her brothers JR and Delbert Crandell.

She married Valentine Allen Uchytil on Jan. 3, 1955, having 9 children born to them.

Dean (Cindy) Uchytil, Vonnie and (Walt) Denham, Roxane and (Mike) Udall, Brent and (Amber) Uchytil, Kirk and (Lisa) Uchytil, Julie and (David) Bennion, Val and (Adriana) Uchytil, Kenneth and (Jennie) Uchytil, Gary and (Stephanie) Uchytil.

Julia and Val have a very large posterity of 9 kids, 61 grandkids, 65 great grandkids, and 2 great greats.

Above all else, Julia's precious family has always meant everything to her. She's always loved and treasured her relationship with each and every one of them. Her devotion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her Heavenly Father has always been a light and example for her family to follow.

Being such a hard working woman of many talents, she has learned so many skills throughout her life. She spent many hours in cub scouts and scouting, and not only was instrumental in helping her own 6 sons obtain eagle rank, but many others as well. She gardened with a passion, decorated many wedding cakes, all as favors. She and Val highly promoted music in the home and spent countless hours making beautiful music through their singing and orchestra instruments together with all of their 9 kids.

Julia and Val served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1993-1995, serving in the Czech Republic, and learned to dearly love and serve the wonderful people there.

Julia will be missed but our memories of her and her wonderful example will remain with us throughout our lives.

Funeral services for Julia will be on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 10:00 with the viewing prior from 9:00-9:45 at the Mesa Central Stake Center 925 N. Harris Drive, Mesa, 85203

Sister Uchytil was ALWAYS so kind to me. She would always welcome me into the home, I'd never seen so much food on a table when they would sit to eat. And it was always so good, and so good for you. She and Brother Uchytil had a huge impact in developing my testimony of the Savior. I will forever love their impact in my life!

Julia was a wonderful friend! Such a good woman! I send my love to her family! I knoe you will miss her, bu all I can think of is that she is getting to catch up with all her family and friends on the other side if the veil. This is the time we are most grateful for Temple covenants and a testimony of Heavenly Father’s plan for His children!
