Joseph Alexander Barber

Joseph Alexander Barber Jr., 85, born December 17, 1925 in Douglas, WY passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, February 8, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and grandson, Joseph. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Joan, four children Mary Ann Parry (Dennis), Carlene Weberg (Don), JoAlice Garbrick (Bob) and David Barber (Belinda). He is the proud grandfather of 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He served honorably in the US Army and retired from General Motors Proving Ground in 1980. He loved fishing, hunting and camping with his family. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he and his wife served a mission at the Mesa Family History Center for 9 years. Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa. Services are Saturday, February 12th at 10 AM at the Madera Ward building, 1150 W. Elliot Rd., Gilbert, with a viewing one hour prior. Burial will follow at the City of Mesa Cemetery.
