Our hearts are heavy as we inform you of the passing of our beautiful son. Jarrod Paul Sevilleja, age 20, passed away on July 20, 2022 in Pinetop, AZ surrounded by family on a vacation that had become tradition and one that he looked forward to every year. He was born at 9:21am on January 27, 2002 in Chandler, AZ and has blessed the lives of many since.Jarrod lived in Gilbert where he was close to family and friends which was the most important thing to him. He would do anything for all his family and his friends were an extended continuation of that. Jarrod loved hard and was the definition of unconditional love. He accomplished so much and graduated from Mesquite High School in 2020 where he met many friends and helped wherever he could. Jarrod was a class clown and that continued outside of the classroom. He never failed to make someone laugh, even if it meant at his own expense. Jarrod was hilarious and quite the prankster. His smile could brighten up any room and his laugh was contagious. His hugs engulfed you and you felt like you were completely safe and like you were the only 2 people on Earth, nothing bad could happen to you and all your fears and problems just melted away. Jarrod was selfless. He never had a selfish bone in his body. He always put others first…always. He touched so many lives and hearts and we are all better for knowing him. The compassion and understanding he had, brought so much comfort to us all. A true gentle giant. If anyone needed Jay, he would drop what he was doing and he was there, even if he was struggling with his own personal storms. He always helped, no question, no matter what time of day or night. Jarrod always looked to better himself and others. He was a great example and teacher to everyone. Jarrod’s kindness, humbleness, and smile were a bright light in this dark world.Jarrod loved, loved football. Everything football, but specifically the Chicago Bears. He also loved Fantasy Football which he also did with family and friends. He was really good at it too and won some good amount of money many many times. I think when he passed, he had like 27+ teams. He knew stats about all the teams, all the players, he lived football. He also played baseball for a few years and enjoyed that til he got injured and had to get screws put in his hips.Jarrod loved time with his family and friends.  From family trips to Pinetop or the beach, to lakes and rivers, to late night drives, to long conversations, to playing card games or Xbox, to listening to music and “dance parties”, to fishing and catching fish time after time with his bare hands, and the list goes on and on. He thoroughly enjoyed his time with those around him and he made sure everyone knew of his love and appreciation for them. Jarrod always treated his “bros” (friends) like family and they will continue to be a part of the family. He also really loved animals but especially his dogs and cats.Jarrod was so strong and took all of life’s challenges and accomplished them all with flying colors and didn’t complain. He always tried to find the positive despite whatever challenge he was facing. Jarrod looked forward to getting a job and establishing himself. He looked at ways to better himself and being around him, made you want to better yourself. Jarrod saw the beauty of life and just wanted to make the world a better place and help everyone. He has the biggest heart of anyone!!! He will be missed terribly with every beat of our hearts. We love you sooo much Jarrod! Thank you for being our angel for over 20 amazing years! We have been truly blessed!Jarrod leaves behind his beloved mother, Julie Gist Dale (William), brother Tyler Dale, beloved father, Leland Sevilleja (Gina), and sister Violet Sevilleja, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. I lost my precious grandson Jarrod and my heart is broken in a million pieces. I don’t understand why he was called away so young. My sweet Jarrod unexpectedly passed away while camping. They tried to wake him and then they tried everything to save him but nothing worked. I’m trying to process my loss but miss everything about him. I was blessed and filled with love from the day of his birth and will cherish all the memories of his short life.
Rest in peace Jarrod. Grandma will always love you.
