About Jacquelyn Carruth Butler Burton
Jacquelyn Carruth Butler Burton passed away at home surrounded by her family following a short illness on Friday, the 21st of September, 2018. She was born on the 8th of September, 1943 in Payson, Utah to Lawrence F. Butler and Marguerite Carruth Butler and graduated from Payson, High School in 1961. Jacque married Ronald C. Burton, her high school sweetheart, in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Jacque is the mother of 4 children Eric (Kelly) Burton, Andrew Burton, Stephanie (Gary) Allen, Stacy (Chris) Hoerchler. She has 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
As a young mother, Jacque worked tirelessly to help her husband complete undergraduate school at the University of Utah and the Medical School at The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She was highly regarded as a secretary in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medical School.
Jacque was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and dedicated her life to her family and to service within the church as well as in her community. She was very politically active and served a major role in several political campaigns, both national and local. Jacque served faithfully in many callings in the church including Primary President, Young Women’s President, Ward and Stake Relief Society President, and Temple Ordinance Worker. She served two missions alongside her husband Ronald C. Burton. She was very supportive of the missionaries and earned their undying love and respect through her compassion, insightful counsel, and love of service to them as they endeavored to complete an honorable mission.
Jacque loved the Lord with all her heart and reflected that love in all the interactions she had with others throughout her life. She was blessed with the special ability to inspire and encourage everyone, especially the downtrodden and weary. Her family feels so very blessed by her tireless love and service to them. All members of her family knew that she was endowed with wisdom, through the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and would always give them just the right advice. There will never be another Jacque. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Scott Burton.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, the 28th of September, 2018 at the Citrus Heights Stake Center 2549 N 32 nd St. Mesa, AZ, 85213. At the same location on Saturday, the 29th of September, 2018 there will be an additional viewing at 9am followed by funeral services at 10am.
