Irma Currier

08/22/1935 - 01/03/2021

Our beloved, cherished, & beautiful mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, Irma Currier (Oma), 85 years old, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021 in Mesa, AZ. Irma was born to Xaver & Theresia Eckstein in1935 in Heidelberg, Germany; she was the youngest girl of 8 children.

Left to carry on her traditions are her son Richard P. Currier and his wife Tiina of Sun Lakes, AZ; her daughter Faith L. Currier of Mesa, AZ;  and her two granddaughters Megan and Samantha Currier of Blackstone, MA and many, many, many nieces and nephews.

Irma lived a very happy active life filled with family, friends, her fur babies and many activities such as reading, craft sales, and her wonderful talent of sewing specialized gifts for her family and friends. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant and contagious smile, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually, but including family and friends – either through prayer, calls, and/or visits.

Anyone who was blessed enough to know her loved her immediately and felt blessed to have her in their life. She will be missed more than words could ever say.

There are not enough words to say how we feel about not having our sweet Irma on this Earth physically. We all loved her as if she was our mother. She was so kind and loving and would give you anything she had if you needed it. The void that she left is humongous. I will always treasure the twinkle in her eye when she told a joke. And how she would say”God in heaven!! Soar high sweet angel!!!

  • Irma will always hold a special place in my heart. I was blessed beyond measure for having known her. She was a very special lady and will be missed greatly. Faith, Richard and Tiina may you find peace in all the blessed memories you have in your hearts, my prayers are always with you!

  • We love you and we loved Irma. She was a talented sweet kind loving lady. She was not just my neighbor but my friend. She made beautiful pillows and blankets and I still love my apron. She had a special love for animals. My most favorite thought about her was the special love and bond she created with Gage from the time he was a baby. She never missed his birthday or Christmas she was like a grandma to him. He loved her so much. I’m sorry the past year and a half had been so rough that we didn’t get to visit. But we thought of you guys often and he asked to visit her often. I know she will be loved and missed by many but she is now is a beautiful place at peace. I love you Faith.

I will miss Irma. I enjoyed her stories about Germany and her dogs. I loved her laugh especially when her dogs did silly things. I a better person for knowing Irma. I will think of her often since every room in my house has something she sewed. May she be with God in peace.

Our heartfelt and deep condolences on the loss of your mother who was so very dear to us and I see to so many others as well. She was certainly a Proverbs 31 woman – putting much of her energies into pleasing her family and friends with not only the joy of spending time with you but making one of her wonderful creations for fun or for purpose as she saw the need. We also will miss that sparkle in her eyes and the lovely sound of her laughter. She will not pass away unnoticed but remembered forever by all the lives she touched with her love. God bless you Faith and Richard with His peace as you go through this time of sorrow.
