Iris Lorene Woodrome lived a full life and passed peacefully at the age of ninety years old on December 29, 2022 of natural causes. In mourning her death, her loved ones celebrate her long awaited reunion with her beloved husband, Deward Eugene Woodrome. Joyfully she will also be met by her siblings Edwin Floyd Crowley, Wayne Doll Crowley, and Robert Lee Crowley, as well as her oldest daughter, Billie Nadene Wallace.

Lorene left a legacy of hardwork and love for her large posterity of 9 children, 49 grandchildren, 133 great-grandchildren and 5+ great-great-grandchildren. Born on November 16, 1932 to Edwin Teeson Crowley and Iris Deane McCullough, she was the first of seven children, Edwin Floyd, Wayne Doll, Ralph Eugene, Dorris Ann, Robert Lee, and Donna Marie. Growing up on a farm, she was given important responsibilities at a young age including caring for her younger siblings and tending to chores on the farm. She was married at age seventeen to Ernest Engler and welcomed her first four children Billie Nadene, Janet Arlene, Daniel Dean, and Ronald Eugene in the coming years. After a difficult marriage and divorce she met the love of her life, Deward Eugene Woodrome, and they were married on June 6, 1959, joining Karen Kay, Larry Eugene and Evelyn Paulette to the family. Together they had Iris Maxine and Ricky Lynn making a family of eleven.

They lived humbly but always found joy and a sense of fun in their life together. Lorene loved ice cream and scenic drives in the country. She was a woman of many talents and used her creativity to bless everyone around her. She could care for animals, helped build and frame a home. She had a beautiful garden and handmade clothes that were sought after. Her handmade quilts were legendary and she shared them with all her children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren. Lorene was resilient, facing many difficult challenges throughout her life with strength, optimism, and a sense of humor. Lorene and Gene had a very special place in their hearts for children, a quality that they have passed on to their large posterity. Lorene had a strong love for God and her family. She will be greatly missed.

Services for Lorene Woodrome will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints meetinghouse on 1415 E Southern Ave, Mesa, AZ 85204. It can also be viewed online via Zoom with the Meeting Code: 480-000-111; Password: Emerald37.
