Harold Edward Pattee, 88, died Saturday, October 29, 2022 in Mesa, AZ. He was born on June 27, 1934 in Phoenix, AZ to Earnest Harold Pattee and Ina Mae Hamblin.

On June 8, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart Phyllis Adams at the Latter-Day Saint Temple in Mesa, AZ where they were sealed for time and all eternity as husband and wife. They were blessed to celebrate almost 59 years together before she preceded him in death. Together they raised their 7 children (1 son and 6 daughters).

Professionally, he was a noted research chemist earning many prestigious awards in the Peanut Science research field. He worked for the US Department of Agriculture for 42 years at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Personally, he was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served on the High Council, as a Temple and Family History Missionary, and as Bishop. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years and received the Silver Beaver Award.

Of all, that he was a part of, his greatest accomplishment was being a husband and father. He was dedicated and loving. His life was devoted to learning and service. He leaves a legacy of research related to his career and his love of genealogy.

Harold is survived by his wife, Letha Liddle Pattee; children, Floyd L. Pattee, Phyllis Kofford (Russ), Linda Bernard (Doug), Deborah Pattee, Sherri Pattee, Sheila Pattee, and Yvonne Lee (Garland); 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters Pat Wilson (Ken) and Thelma Winters (Al). He is predeceased by his wife Phyllis; father; mother; step-mother Thelma; brothers John Merwin and Raymond.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 532 South Greenfield Rd, Mesa, with visitation at 10:30am and services at 11:30am. Burial will be immediately following at Mesa City Cemetery, 1212 N. Center St. Mesa, AZ.
