It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary Matthews, who left this world on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the age of 81, within the solace of his home. Gary’s departure leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Gary is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda, and their children: Shelley (Robert), Janna, Ellen (Rick), Vance, Blaine (Tiffany), Nathan (Jenny), Daniel, 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will also be held dear in the hearts of those who preceded him in death, including his son Cris, granddaughter Emily, his parents Ray & Donna Matthews and two sisters, Beth Rogers and Kathleen Adair.

Born in Mesa Arizona in 1942, Gary’s journey through life was marked by noteworthy achievements and unwavering dedication. Gary ventured into the printing business, eventually establishing Matthews the Printer alongside his wife Linda in 1977. Their joint efforts successfully sustained the business for an impressive 47 years.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Gary found immense joy in family bonds and shared adventures. Family vacations, camping trips, and fishing excursions were among his favorite pastimes. Gary’s commitment to faith was evident in his unwavering service within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Gary Matthews will be remembered not only for his entrepreneurial spirit but also for his love of family, his dedication to community, and his steadfast commitment to his faith. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, rich with meaningful connections and lasting contributions to those around him.
