We have been blessed to count Gary & Fran Walton closest of friends for over 40-yrs. We raised our children together, we traveled together, we worshipped together, & we will now grieve together. Gary always tried to put 10# of stuff into 5# of time; he was maddeningly late for almost every activity we had (sometimes I wanted to just strangle him!) but the wait for him was always worth it. I think he was the only guy I know who was cheaper (frugal) than me. But his heart is as big as his grin, his love for & commitment to family, friends, & his God as deep as his love for a good taco, his selflessness close to the Savior’s. He’s as true blue as it gets – what you see what you get, there is no guile in the man. We will miss him, but he lives on thru his wife & family & the many precious memories we have of him (who can forget Poncho Claus?) Until later my friend, my brother.

  • I have been privileged to be good friends with Gary and Frances since they first started dating in 1974, when Frances and I were rooming together off campus at ASU. Gary was always so much fun to be around. Some of my funniest stories and memories feature Gary, who had a quick wit and a way with words. He was witty, warm, and as big-hearted as they come, always willing to help others. I adored him and will miss him dearly. My love to the Walton family at this difficult time. Gary was a treasure!
