Drummer Charles Lambert, 37, passed into everlasting peace on July 14, 2018. Drummer was born on February 23, 1981 in Grand Junction, CO. The way Drummer lived his life made the world a more beautiful place. He was an outstanding husband, father, brother, son, and friend. Drummer is loved by many who connected almost instantly with his authenticity and infectious smile. He was generous, honest, selfless, and he had a great sense of humor.

Drummer is survived by his wife, Kimberly Elyse (Barney) Lambert and his two wonderful sons, Sutton Charles (10) and Brooks Ennis (4).  He is also survived by his mother and father, Beverly Willey Candland and Bill Candland and Walt Lambert; his beloved sisters and brothers; and many other family members who loved him.

Drummer knew that every human being needs to feel special, to belong as a valued member of society, and to be honored by others. He developed all his relationships according to those values. And now we honor him.

He will be missed. He will be remembered. And he will be celebrated.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Drummer’s name on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the LDS Higley Groves Ward chapel, 495 S Greenfield Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234. A visitation will begin at 9:00am and the service will follow at 10:00am. There will also be a graveside service immediately following at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N Center St, Mesa, AZ 85201. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ 85201.

In lieu of flowers, we know that Drummer would have been honored by a donation to the John Volken Academy (Welcome Home) to which he was so grateful. www.jvadonate.com

    Dear Candland and Lambert Families,

I am a friend of Becca’s in New York and her two older sons’ homeschool teacher, thus many of you I don’t know, nonetheless I wish to offer my deepest condolences for your loss of Drummer. If he was anything like his sister, which I imagine he was, he must have been an angel on earth. I love Becca and her boys very much, therefore her/your loss is mine. I will keep all of you in my prayers. May God grant you peace and ease your sorrow through your faith and prayers, and may you find strength and love in each other to carry onward.

    Love,
    Kristine Freeland

  • We are so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love, Molly, Conner, and Claire

  • Wendy & Noel Candland

Two years ago we asked Drummer to conclude our Candland family Christmas party with his testimony of Jesus Christ. It was probably not the easiest thing for him to do in public, but he graciously accepted and then did a beautiful job. We were all better for hearing his thoughts and what he believed. Last Christmas Kim also gave a sweet and heartfelt prayer that really started our evening out so beautifully. We love Drummer and Kim and our prayers will continue to go out to Bill, Bev, Kim, and the boys.

Dear Lambert family I want you to know I was in recovery with your son 7 years ago at the John Volken academy or formerly known Welcome home, your son was a good old boy from the old block no doubt about it! I send you my deepest condolences and thoughts, your son taught me a few things communication and work ethic. He was a great carpenter and wonderful husband. I had hoped that him and I remained good friends but alas I quit the Volken academy for my own good and I’m doing very well now. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I am just simply in shock! I just saw you guys last Friday. I don’t know what happened, and I know it doesn’t matter right now, but I am so sorry. I didn’t get to know him that much, seeing as I only met you in April, but he was a champion and leader. Kim & boys, if there is ANYTHING we can do for you, we are there.

    Love and hugs,
    Sara, Brett Michael

I’m so sorry to hear about this. My thoughts are with all of you at this time.

  • Drummer was my older sister’s boyfriend in high school. During that time, he was the older brother I never had. He was always so kind and positive. He always offered to drop me off at my friends’ houses when I didn’t have a ride and he bought me my first CD (Blink 182) from The Wherehouse. He was too cool and I’m very sad to hear of his passing. Sending my sincere condolences to his family and friends.

  • Dear Lambert Family and friends I’m truly sorry for your loss, Drummer was an excellent human being, he was always smiling and it was such a pleasure to do business with him.
We will miss him so much!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this story. This is his older sister and I didn’t know this story. I appreciate you sharing. ❤️
