Darlene Morago, 75, born in Ajo, AZ on Jan. 20, 1938, died on Sept. 11, 2013 in Gilbert, AZ. The daughter of Julio and Rebecca Mota, Darlene graduated from high school in Ajo in 1956. She was married to Burdette B. Morago of Sacaton and raised four children on the Gila River Indian Reservation. She worked for 30 years for the Sacaton Public School District as secretary to the superintendent and to the Board of Education. A kind a generous woman, Darlene was devoted to her family. An expert seamstress, great cook and homemaker, she was beloved by her family and friends. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chandler and was a member of the church’s altar society. She is survived by her children, Sheila Morago of Oklahoma City, OK, Gregory Morago of Houston, TX, Michael Morago of Casa Grande, and Debra Morago of Chandler; and her siblings Gloria Robles of Ajo, Ruth Mota of Chandler, and Daniel Mota of Tucson. Her brother, Robert Mota predeceased her. She also leaves grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services and visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, from 6-8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa. Burial Mass will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 230 W. Galveston St., Chandler. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ, 85014, are suggested.
