Blaine Langerman, born in Rapid City, South Dakota, and a resident of Mesa, Arizona, passed away surrounded by family. Blaine spent his career in construction, serving as a project manager for several notable buildings in the Phoenix area after a long tenure with Rhino Construction. He retired ten years ago and found his greatest joy in his family, who knew him lovingly as Grandpa, Paw Paw, and Goofball.
Blaine is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pam, and his two children, Lisa Self and Tom Langerman. He also leaves behind his brother, Mike Langerman, and sister, Cindy Bojack, as well as five adoring grandchildren: Hendrix Blackburn, Rosemary Blackburn, Jack Self, Reese Langerman, and Hudson Langerman.
Blaine, who never met a stranger, cherished the outdoors and was always the life of the party. A celebration of his life will be held on November 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Mi Amigos in Mesa, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Blaine’s memory be made to the American Heart Association.

I will forever remember my dear dear friend, goofiness and all! He will be missed by many! May he rest in God’s loving arms. God speed Blaine!
My brother Blaine, I miss you so much. I know you are in heaven with Mack, Fred mom and dad and all of our family who is waiting for you ❤️please watch over all of us until we can all be together again! I love you so much! Your favorite and only sister Cindy
Blaine was my neighbor and friend. His sense of humor was stellar; he always made me laugh with his many observations on, well, everything! He shared his knowledge of how to build things and how a house worked whenever asked. I miss him. I wish his family and friends peace as we all deal with his loss.
Blaine had a magnetic personality. Whatever he was doing, I always wanted to be a part of it. Sometimes he was doing the LA times crossword, where I’ve been assured that they spell things wrong all the time. 🙂 Sometimes he was doing a construction project or helping on my Eagle scout project. Nobody else has had quite the same knack for convincing me to do manual labor, nor has anyone made me laugh so much while doing it. Sometimes he’d go for a nap, and I’d just sit around waiting for him because I didn’t want to miss whatever was next.
No one memory truly captures the immensely positive impact that Blaine had on my life and those around me, but suffice to say, he is the best uncle and Godfather that I could have wished for, and I will miss him dearly.

My sister knew from the moment she laid eyes upon Blaine that he was the man she would marry. He injected his wit and humor into the family gatherings that made attendance a delight. The unforgettable event when our families (kids against parents) played Pictionary will forever spread a smile on our faces. Puerto Vallarta, when sis and I heard a raucous commotion down at the pool from our balcony and discovered a mass of 20 locals roaring with laughter and Blaine in the center of it all. His sense of wonder was prevalent during his and Pam’s trip to Europe and his admiration of the stonemasons’ massive church construction. His willingness to advise and share his expertise. It is unconceivable that he is no longer here to interact with. He will be missed by everyone he touched.
