Belinda Jo Wood

03/13/1970 - 05/03/2021

Belinda Jo (Hardy) Wood passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, May 3, 2021 at 51 years old. The youngest of five children, Belinda brought unexpected luck to her family when she was born on Friday, March 13, 1970, in Portland, Oregon. The rambunctious curly, blonde was affectionately called Buffy very early on, and the name stuck most of her childhood.

Her early childhood was spent in Gresham, Oregon, but started 9th grade in Arizona when her family moved to Mesa. Belinda briefly attended Brigham Young University, and later became a nail technician.
Belinda inherited her family’s love of music and started singing with her older sisters at a very young age. She sang her first solo at age 10, and went on to pursue professional vocal training, competed in voice competitions, performed on the radio, sang in local clubs and recorded a few songs.

Belinda married Brad Wood April 19, 1996 – just celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. Belinda found most joy as a full-time mom to her two daughters, Taylor (20) and Makenzie (18). She loved all children and they loved her. She was a favorite aunt to her 14 nieces and nephews—and was looking forward to the day she would become a grandmother.
Along with her husband and daughters, Belinda is survived by her brother, Brad Hardy, and sister, Becky Kelly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Myrna Hardy, her brother, Brian Hardy and sister, Brenda Hardy.
