Barbara “Barb” Sue Neff Allen was born February 9, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Leslie Byrd Neff and Helen Louise Lloyd Neff.
Above all Barb loved to explore the world, and to her great joy at 16 she escaped her small hometown of Mt. Washington, Kentucky and moved with her family to Phoenix, Arizona. She went on to study Recreation and Travel at ASU and on February 16, 1980 married a motorcycle-riding engineering student named Brent Eric Allen. They raised four daughters who learned from Barb to love beaches, creativity, and kindness.
Barb delighted in small adventures, and on February 14, 2022 in Gilbert, Arizona she left us to return home for the last Great Adventure. She leaves a prodigious collection of rocks and seashells that display her love of the world, along with a legacy of warmth, fun, acceptance, and joy.
She is survived by husband Brent; brother Joe; daughters Jacqui, Jenny, Laura, and Stefanie; son-in-laws Eric, Tyson, and Josh; and grandchildren Kyler, Kacin, Perry, Layla, Brinna, Bryce, Preston, Rylie, Macie, Logan, Grayson, and Harper.
