Anna Jean Porter, 95 years old; daughter of Frank and Beulah Gibson, wife of William Stanley Porter, mother of Gary & Alana Porter, Sandra (deceased) & Duane Gines, Dennis & Michelle Porter, Cynthia & Phil Peden, Linda & Ross Heywood, Nancy & Dale Robinson, and KC & Wendy Porter; slipped away in her sleep on October 29, 2022 – a peaceful sleep to a joyful awakening.
Grandma Jean has 35 grand children and 64 great grandchildren. If there was a position of service in her beloved Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held it and loved serving.
A granddaughter, Carling Rebaza captures her grandmother with the following: “When you think of the great people of this world, those who have honed their skills to become the best of the best, you think of great writers, artists, and athletes. You don’t often think of the humble positions such as a Grandmother.
For those lucky enough to call Anna Jean Porter, “Grandma Jean”, you know that she is indeed the greatest of the greats. She perfected her craft. All 35 of her grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren could secretly feel they were her favorite, because that was part of her magic; a bold statement, but true. She was a gift I could never have deserved, but one I reverence thankfully.”

We have very fond memories of living on the same street (east 6th Place) with the Porters for many years. What a wonderful family and great neighbors! Sister Porter was a wonderful leader and friend. She and Bishop Stan raised a wonderful family and left such a legacy of faith. I had the privilege of being her visiting teacher in the 1980’s and I learned so much from her! She showed me her “happiness book” where she kept favorite poems, stories, thank you notes, etc. I loved that idea! So glad I got to know, love and respect this beautiful lady! Hugs to her family!
My mother loves the Porter family and I have loved being connected as a friend to one of Jean’s grandchildren. What a legacy she has! Wishing you peace, love, and comfort during this time. I hope you all can feel her loving spirit surrounding you!

Ivan was blessed to grow up next door to Jean and Stan and the Porter family. If you ever wondered what pure Christlike love, service and neighbors look like, you needn’t look further than next door to the Porter family. Always welcoming, always giving to others and always ready to help in every way possible. So blessed to know them and learn from from Stan & Jean’s amazing examples! I know Stan and Jean are celebrating a great reunion together again. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with each of the Porter & Gibson families.

I second those glowing reports of the great kindness’ and friendships felt by all those lucky enough to know the Porter family. Jean and Stan and kids have always been the example for all to follow.
