Condolences

  • Daryl McCleery

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and especially his sister Mary.

  • Dear Setser Family: I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that has given me comfort when I have lost loved ones. The words found at John 6:40 and Revelation 21:4 tell us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering, including sickness and death. May the memories of Rick and these promises from God comfort you in the days to come.

  • Paul Neighbors

Rick was a fair man as a racing official and a great mentor to me regarding nuances of dirt track operations. He will be missed. My sympathy to LaDawn and the rest of the family.

  • As I was doing some prep work on my Sprint car, I thought back to the time Rick graciously let me hot lap his car. At that time driving/owning a Sprint car was mostly a dream, but Rick’s offer to let me strap in and take some laps lit the fire. After 20 years of stock car racing I saw that dream come to fruition. Without Rick’s encouragement I doubt I would have continued. He will never be forgotten.
