Harry Joe Gould

05/22/1938 - 03/12/2010

Gould, Harry Joe, 71, of Mesa, AZ passed away on Mar 12, 2010 after a 10+ year struggle with ALS. Born May 22, 1938, in Jerome, AZ to Margaret Fuller Gould and (Harman) Jay Gould, the third of five children. Harry grew up all over AZ but graduated from Winslow High with several life-long friends. He served in the LDS Canadian Mission and graduated with both a BS and MS from ASU in Electrical Engineering. He married his sweetheart, Leila Ann Grover, on June 23, 1967, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved their family from CA to Mesa in 1978. Harry was brilliant and an expert in his field. Though fishing was his favorite hobby, he was also an accomplished artist, photographer, skeet shooter, outdoorsman, pinewood derby car builder and sports fan. His greatest love was always his church, friends and family – especially the grandkids. He is survived by his loving wife, Leila, children JoLynn Anderson (David), Pam McMahon, Russ Gould (April), Dan Gould (Molly) and Brian Gould (Camille), 14 grandchildren, sisters Nada Greer, Phyllis Sirrine, Ginger Evans, and brother Rick Gould. He is predeceased by both parents. He will be dearly missed. Viewing is Thur. Mar 18 at the LDS Chapel, 1455 N Harris, Mesa from 9-10:15 with funeral services at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALSTDI or ALSA. Arrangements by Bunker’s 480-696-6883.
