Faye Nell was a “favorite” cousin for us. We always looked forward to the times we could all get together for a “cousins’ reunion.” Faye Nell was always the life of the party. It was good to hear her reminisce about family members and happenings from long ago – not sure how much she “embellished” family history! We will miss her e-mails and the occasions when we got to spend time with her in person. We offer sympathy to all of you in the more immediate family. We won’t try to make the trip from Texas, but all of you are on our hearts and in our prayers.

  • Faye Nell was a true American patriot. She spoke up for what was needed to be said. Her thoughts about the condition of the world mirrors my own thoughts more than anyone else that I know. What a lady.

Faye meant the world to me. She was certainly one of a kind. I feel blessed to have known her. One thing we did that we always laughed about was her little turtle pinky ring. We would make up funny stories about the ring. Another time, we went to this country western bar/restaurant. We noticed that the ceiling tiles had pictures drawn and were personalized. We asked about it and for twenty dollars you could have a ceiling tile. We decided we wanted one, so we drew a funny picture of ourselves. I don’t remember the name of the place, but somewhere in Apache Junction is a little piece of Faye. It never mattered what we were doing, time with Faye was always fun and will be some of my most treasured memories. I’m going to miss her…a lot.

  • There are no words to express my sadness in Faye’s passing. I’m sorry just isn’t enough. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and did a great job at all! She left the world a better place because she was in it. To her family, just know how much she touched other lives as well as yours. That is the legacy of a great woman. She will be missed.

I feel so blessed to have known her. She was a fine Lady and a spunky Vigilante! Not many women can achieve those distinctions. Love and Prayers to her family. You were all very special to her. I hope you smile when you think of her, as I know I will.

I’m saddened to hear that Faye Nell has passed away. She was so full of life and she loved her family so much. So often in her emails she would mention the Sunday Leedy “get-togethers” and how she enjoyed being together with all of you. The delicious food – the activities that you all did together – trips to the mountains with the family – they were all so important to her. It is fantastic that she had those 6 years in Mesa and she was so close to all of you. Know you have wonderful memories to treasure and that is so important.

I went to school with Orvel at Johnsville and we graduated together in 1946. My husband, Lloyd and Orvel were in the Air Force together and were stationed at New Castle Air Force Base in Wilmington , Delaware. That is where we had met Faye Nell. We go back a good number of years. Lloyd passed away April 2014 .

We have stayed in touch via email the past few years. Also phone calls – especially when Orvel was living. So many wonderful memories and I truly will miss hearing from her. Loved her sense of humor and her emails were written just as if we were talking to each other.

My heart goes out to you and the Leedy Family. We can be thankful that Faye Nell lived her 84 years independently and enjoyed life to the fullness. I am blessed to have been her friend. Thank you for taking the time to send me her obituary .

Thank you for your thoughtfulness in letting all of us know of Faye’s passing. She truly was a special lady. I love that donations can be made to the NRA, she would love that. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. I will be unable to attend the services as I am home from work with a sinus infection. I would certainly be there if I could.

  • Thank you so much for sending this information to us, (some of the Leedy family). I am the daughter of Hoy and Esther Stevens. Esther was Uncle Orvel’s Sister. Aunt FayeNell and I always seemed to have a connection
even though I really only spent “days” with her through my life. I Always loved her Spirit and you are so right, She will be missed by Many. Hope some of her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren have inherited some of that “spunk”!
Many didn’t quite know how to take her at times but her heart was as big as her beloved Texas! Take care and smile thinking of her…I know I will!

  • Tom & Kathy Stangel

Thank you for the notification. I was very sad to hear of Faye’s passing but she led a full life and with her personality everyone who knew her was a friend. My sincerest condolence to all of her family. Tim and Sean know that my thoughts are with you through this time of sorrow and the calibration of your mothers life.

  • Janelle and Don Clasen

This is such a shock to us as I am sure it is for you. You all have our heartfelt condolences. We met Tom and Faye when we lived in Pie Town. They were such a neat couple. Faye would keep us laughing with her stories, of all her adventures. Tom seemed to be the quiet one. Faye was passionate about her beliefs, politics and what ever else was right or wrong with this world. We tried to solve the problems, and we could have if the right people would have listened to us.. I loved her emails, and comments on some of the ones I sent her. I will sorely miss her and those emails.. God bless you all.

  • Tim Bonnie & Sean & family

  • Cathy and John Spasoff

Tim, Sean and the Leedy family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Our memories go way back to the 70’s when your family made us feel so welcome to Sierra Vista. John and Tom worked together for many years, and your mom made me feel so welcome to the “PAMI” family. She also helped me with my first job in Sierra Vista. Both your parents made this a better world to live in. I’m so grateful that I was so blessed to know them both. May God comfort at this time of sorrow.

  • Roberta (Leonard) Janeway

Faye Nell has been my friend since we were twelve years old. I share your loss, dear family, and thank you sincerely for notifying her contacts. I will miss, yet never forget, all we shared, and my special memories of her playing piano skillfully, in the same highly intelligent ways in which she viewed life, shared her wit and fun and love, so much love. Faye Nell enriched my life, and I am grateful God brought us together, and kept us friends for these many years.

    Dear Tim,Shawn &Leedy Family,
I am so deeply sad in hearing of the passing of your Precious
Mother and Grandmother and my dearest friend of nearly 40yrs. I wish I could go back in time and tell Faye just how much I loved her and thank her for all the wise motherly advice she gave me though the yrs. that got me through some pretty rough times. I will cherish all the Christmas cards, letters & pictures she sent me to my last days end. I wish I could make one last phone call and here her voice telling me “Sherry, everything will be alright”, and I’d say, ” I love you Faye Nell”.

  • Mary Ann Cammuse, Betty Jean Alberts, Lori Gearhart and Dan Leedy

We are siblings of Orvels’ brother Dale. We send our deepest sympathy. We all at one time or another have “personally” met Faye Nell, Orvel, Tim and Sean in years past. I (MaryAnn Cammuse) in these latter years have enjoyed keeping in touch with Faye’s life by e-mail. I hadn’t received anything from her lately and was starting to be a little concerned. Then I get Tammys sad news. So very sorry, I know you all will miss her very much.

  • Faye Nell was a hard working, well informed Patriot, who loved God, her family and her country. With a million or so like her, what a different world it would be. Bob Mize

  • Atticus Leedy

I really really miss G.G. I hope she has a good time in heaven. I really love that she would always bring doughnuts to Leedy Sunday. And I really, really, really, hope she had a fun life.

  • Emerson Leedy

I really miss you. I hope you still love us and I hope that you are haveing a really good time.

  • Juanita Roberts

I was not aware that Faye Nell passed until I got a Christmas card back today that I had mailed before Christmas. We were second cousins but very close and grew up together. My Mom was Ida Davis (Mrs. Frank Davis), who lived in Amarillo, Tx. Faye Nell was the last of the “Courtney group”. I enjoyed her traveling visits here to Colorado and will cherish our childhood memories.

  • To Mrs. Leedy’s family and friends, I’m very sorry for your loss. It’s my hope that you can draw comfort and strength from Jehovah God’s promises in the Bible. Revelation 21: 3, 4 and John 5: 28, 29 show that there will soon be a time when there will be no more pain, sickness, or death, and we can see the loved ones we have lost again. Please accept my deepest condolences.
