We are so sorry to hear about Mrs. Effie passing away. She was a special lady with a lovely daughter and good friend Brenda that I’m sure welcomed her mom with open arms. Much love and many sweet thoughts to the family. Ron and Sue Smith Stott

  • I was privileged to be a best friend to Effie’s daughter. Brenda. The Maready family was always loving and kind to me. I have kept in touch with Effie often since Brenda’s death. The world is a sadder place without Brenda and now her Mom.

  • My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I wish that I could be there to be with you. We always enjoyed having family visit in Newport News, VA and I remember how much Effie enjoyed going to Buckroe Beach and to country music shows in Williamsburg. I am so glad that we got a chance to visit with her a few years ago when we traveled to Arizona for vacation. I have many fond memories of times spent with my sister-in-law Effie and will miss her!

  • Thinking of all of Brenda’s family in the loss of her Mother. May all of you find comfort in your wonderful memories. (Class of 1964 Wallace-Rose Hill)

  • Love, love, love this lady! She was like a mom to me . She and my father-in-law, Ken, taught me how to can fruits and veggies. Spent many holidays, fishing trips and good times with her. She is the reason I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches and so much more. May her family be blessed with the comforter. Good bye Grandma Effie , til we meet again.
