Service Location: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Vineyard Ward, 1054 W. 2nd Place, Mesa, Arizona

Brian William Giles was born on September 6, 1977 in Mesa, Arizona.  He passed away March 6, 2015 in Mesa. He is survived by his parents, Doug and Vonda Giles, brothers, Cory (Libby) and Brandon (Mallory), sisters Jenni Leavitt (Brent) and Christi Mullenaux (Clay), seven nieces and eight nephews.

Brian was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to Fort Worth, Texas. He was always the life of the party and everyone loved to be around him. He had the best stories to tell and had an infectious laugh that will surely be missed. It was fun just watching him and being around him. He was truly a friend to all. His favorite moments, though, were spent watching sporting events with his dad and brothers or sitting around a barbeque grill with his friends and family. Brian was an excellent cook and was always willing to share this talent with others. It was always special when Brian was in charge. The youth in his ward and stake were often the beneficiaries of these great meals. He really could barbeque like no other and always had so much fun putting on these great events. Brian found joy in the service of others. He was always such a positive influence on those around him, especially to his nieces and nephews who adored him and were with him almost every single day. He was very supportive in their activities and was so happy and proud of their accomplishments. Brian, we love you and miss you terribly. We are so grateful to know we will all be together again.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the LDS Vineyard Ward Chapel, 1054 W. 2nd Place, Mesa, Arizona. Funeral services are Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 AM, preceded by a visitation at 10 AM, at the same location. Interment will be at the City of Mesa Cemetery. Arrangements by Bunker’s Garden Chapel.

May Brian’s loving family and friends find comfort from God’s Word at Revelation 21:3,4

We did not know Brian, but we know his father Doug because we were also in the big pharma industry-both Doug and Roman started at a small pharma company-Pennwalt- Doug was known as a very responsible and kind man who was a credit to his family and upbringing and was a hard worker-(something rarely found now in the industry). Please know that you are in our hearts and prayers as you go through this experience and that we know that one day you will be reunited with your son and once again will be sharing special times with him and others who have gone before.

  • Dear Vonda & Doug, you may not remember me for many years have passed since old Mesa High, but the loss of a loved one makes one reflect on the past and the pleasure that your son brought to so many. My heartfelt prayers go out to you at this difficult time.

  • My heart is with you all right now. I have been thinking of Brian and know his loss is greatly felt. I so enjoyed reading and re-reading the wonderful tribute to him. What a great man you raised. I love you all.
